About this policy

Giant VFX Ltd(“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the website at giantvfx.co.uk and publishes iOS applications on the Apple App Store, including GoGo. This Privacy Policy explains what information we (and the limited third parties we rely on) handle, how, and why — for the GoGo app and for this website.

Giant VFX Ltd is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Part A — GoGo iOS App

Summary — what GoGo does and doesn’t do

GoGo is fully ad-free and does not track you. There are no accounts, no logins, and no advertising. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not share data with data brokers.

Specifically, GoGo does not:

  • show ads or include any advertising SDK;
  • use the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) or display an App Tracking Transparency prompt;
  • use third-party analytics, attribution, or any cross-app or cross-site tracking;
  • require accounts or logins, or collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts;
  • sell or share personal data with data brokers.

On-device data

GoGo stores the data you enter — match history, player profiles, scores, and app settings — locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. By default, this data stays on your device: we do not upload it to our servers, and this version of the app does not use iCloud sync. You can erase all of it at any time by deleting the app.

Live score sharing (“LiveLink”) — optional

LiveLink is an optional feature that you trigger on a per-match basis when you want others to watch the scoreboard in a browser. When you turn LiveLink on:

  • The current match data — the team and player names and scores you have typed in — is published to a Google Firebase Realtime Database “room” identified by a random 6-character code.
  • Anyone with the room link or code can view the match in a browser while it is live. Because a room is viewable by anyone with the code, please do not enter information as team or player names that you would not want shared with the people you send the link to.
  • Writes to the room are locked to an anonymous Firebase Auth ID(not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID). We do not use Firebase Auth’s account features.
  • The room is removed approximately one hour after the match ends.

Co-scoring (“CoScore”) — optional

CoScore lets several phones update the same match. It uses the same Firebase mechanism described above: when you host or join a CoScore session, the match’s team and player names and scores are synced via Firebase Realtime Database using a join code, scoped to an anonymous Firebase Auth ID. CoScore data is removed on the same timescale as LiveLink data.

iPad spectator display

If you pair your phone to an iPad to show the scoreboard on a bigger screen, the connection uses Apple’s on-device, peer-to-peer networking framework (MultipeerConnectivity). Scoreboard data flows directly between your devices on the local network and is not sent to our servers.

Subscriptions — GoGo Pro

GoGo Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription (£1.99 per month or £9.99 per year, with a 14-day free trial). All purchases are processed by Applethrough StoreKit, and Apple handles billing. We never see, receive, or store your payment details. We only read Apple’s receipt-level subscription status (active / inactive) to unlock Pro features. You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.

Camera & Photo Library — optional

GoGo asks for camera or photo library access only when you explicitly choose to add a player photo or capture a result shot at the end of a match. Any photo you select is stored on your device and used by the app on-device only. We do not upload your photos to our servers.

Analytics

GoGo does notinclude any third-party analytics SDK. We rely on the anonymised, app-store-side metrics that Apple provides through App Store Connect (installs, crash counts, App Store impressions), which cannot identify individual users. App Store Connect data is governed by Apple’s privacy practices.

Third-party processors used by GoGo

The only third-party data processor used by the GoGo app itself is:

  • Google Firebase (Realtime Database and Anonymous Authentication), hosted in the europe-west1 region, used solely to deliver the optional LiveLink and CoScore features described above.

Apple processes in-app purchases and provides aggregate App Store metrics, as described above. We do not use any other third-party services in the app at launch.

Children

GoGo is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. GoGo does not collect data that requires parental consent.

Data retention & deletion (GoGo)

Because match data lives on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing GoGo’s history or removing the app from your phone. LiveLink and CoScore rooms are short-lived — the data they hold is removed approximately one hour after the match ends and cannot be recovered after that.

Part B — Website

This section describes the privacy practices of the website at giantvfx.co.uk. These practices are separate from the GoGo iOS app described above; the website and the app do not share data.

Contact form submissions

When you submit our contact form, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The subject of your enquiry
  • Your message content

This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We process it on the legal basis of legitimate interest (responding to business enquiries). Contact form submissions are delivered to us by email via Resend (resend.com) and retained no longer than 24 months after our last interaction with you unless there is a legitimate business reason to keep them.

Cookieless analytics

We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. Vercel Analytics may collect page views, navigation paths, referrer information, country-level geographic data (not IP addresses), and device or browser category. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual visitors.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. We may use essential client-side storage (such as your theme preference via localStorage) which is never transmitted to our servers.

Hosting

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. Vercel’s privacy policy applies to the infrastructure they provide. Apart from Vercel Analytics and Resend (described above), we do not use any other third-party services that process website visitor data.

Part C — Your rights & contact

Your rights under UK and EU GDPR

You have the following rights:

  • Right of access— request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification— ask us to correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to erasure— ask us to delete your personal data where there is no compelling reason to continue processing it.
  • Right to restrict processing— ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability— receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object— object to our processing of your personal data.

Because GoGo stores match data on your device and does not require an account, exercising your access or deletion rights for the app usually means clearing GoGo’s history or deleting the app from your phone. LiveLink and CoScore room data auto-expires roughly one hour after each match. For any other request, please email turkertuncer@giantvfx.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days.

Children’s privacy

Neither our website nor our apps are directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you may lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
